Basic fact-There are only 24 hours in a day. It is one constant that all business owners have in going about their work. We all have a set amount of hours in each day. We can burn the candle at both ends-but we all have the same amount of time.
The challenge is how do we get more accomplished? I guess there are some tricks-We can hire more employees. We can arrange for a virtual assistant (one of my favorites). But how do we accomplish more? How do we become more productive in a our daily lives---our business lives...
I am a man of lists. I keep a Moleskine notebook that helps me organize my day and the tasks that I want to accomplish for the week.The front section of the Moleskine includes goals and then moves to the weekly tasks Further back in the notebook, divided by a tab is my "parking lot" and project area. This is the section that I use to capture the random thoughts of the day and notes for current or upcoming projects. The very back of my Moleskine is reserved for metrics-the items that I want to track. What gets measured gets attended to...so I have taken to habit the tracking of items that I want to measure-weight loss goals, the Dow Jones, Yankees win-loss record....this system seems to work for me...
